Why a loyalty card works for bubble tea shops

Bubble tea orders vary more than most drinks: size, sweetness, a topping or two. A plain "buy 9, get one free" card treats a small plain tea the same as a large drink with two toppings. Points on spend fix that, and let you set a small reward early, such as a free topping, and a free drink later. Your customers are on their phones while they wait for the order anyway, so scanning the QR and saving the card takes seconds.

How it works at the pickup counter

Everything runs from your phone. No hardware, no POS integration, nothing for customers to install.

  1. 1

QR by the menu and the pickup shelf

Customers scan it while their drink is shaken. The card saves to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.

  2. 2

    Add points as they pay

Scan their card and add points, for example one point per dollar, so toppings and large sizes earn more.

  3. 3

    Two rewards to aim for

A free topping at 25 points and a free drink at 70: there is always something close.

What it looks like in the app

Scan the customer's card, tap once, and the stamp is on their phone. Every visit is recorded with who added it.

What the rewards really cost

An example points program: one point per dollar, a free topping at 25 points and a free drink at 70.

Average drink with a topping
$6.50
Drinks to reach 70 points
about 11
Free topping at 25 points
$0.75 menu, about $0.20 to make
Free drink at 70 points
about $1.60 to make (tea, milk, tapioca, cup, seal)
Free drink cost as a share of spend
about 2.3%

Example figures, not data from real shops. Toppings cost very little to give away, which makes them a cheap first reward that gets new customers to a second and third visit. Try your own numbers with the stamp card calculator.

Rewards that work for bubble tea shops

  • One point per dollar, so sizes and toppings count.
  • A free topping as an early reward, and a free drink later.
  • A punch card instead if almost everyone orders one regular drink.

You can run a punch card or points, set more than one reward, and change it later without losing anyone's progress. For more ideas, read punch card or points: which to choose. New to digital cards? Read what a digital loyalty card is and how much a loyalty program costs.

Questions from bubble tea shops

Anything else? Talk to us.

Points or a punch card for bubble tea?

Points if orders vary in size and toppings, so customers who spend more earn more. A punch card if most people order one regular drink.

Will it slow down pickup at busy times?

No. Adding points is one scan and one tap from your phone. Customers join on their own by scanning the QR while they wait.

What stops staff from adding points for friends?

Every transaction is recorded with the staff member who added it, and owners see it in the activity log. A manager or owner can reverse one added by mistake.

Do customers with Android phones get the card too?

Yes. Customers with an Android phone save the card to Google Wallet, and iPhone customers save it to Apple Wallet. You scan both the same way.

What about customers without a smartphone?

They need a phone with Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. For the few customers who don’t have one, you can keep a paper card going alongside.

Can I change the point levels later?

Yes. Editing a live program keeps every customer’s points balance.

We have two shops. Does one plan cover both?

Each plan covers one store. If you run more than one, email contact@comprafy.app and we’ll help you set it up.

How much does it cost?

Try it free for 7 days. After that it’s $39.99 a month per store, with unlimited customer cards and no per-customer fee. Cancel anytime.
