Stallmark vs Square Loyalty

Updated November 1, 2026. Facts about Square Loyalty come from its own website, checked November 1, 2026.

If you already take payments with Square, Square Loyalty is hard to beat on convenience. Customers type their phone number at checkout and earn points automatically, with no separate scan. Loyalty comes with the Square Plus plan at $49 a month per location, which also includes staff tools and email and text marketing.

Stallmark is for shops that don’t run on Square or want a classic punch card. It costs $39.99 a month for one store, works next to any till, and needs no POS integration. Customers scan a QR code and carry the card in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, and staff stamp it with their own phone.

Square has a longer trial (30 days vs 7) and more marketing tools today. Stallmark costs less for loyalty alone and doesn’t tie you to a payment provider. Prices below are from Square’s own pages, checked November 1, 2026.

Questions

Do I need Square to use Stallmark?

No. Stallmark runs on its own, from the app on your phone. It works next to any till, and there is no POS integration.

Is Stallmark cheaper than Square Loyalty?

For loyalty alone, yes: $39.99 a month for one store against $49 a month per location for Square Plus. Square Plus includes other tools too, so if you use them it may be better value for you.

Can Stallmark add points automatically at checkout?

No. Staff scan the customer’s wallet card with their phone and tap to add stamps or points. Square adds points at checkout because it is your point of sale.

Does Square Loyalty work with Google Wallet?

Square’s loyalty page mentions an Apple Wallet pass and doesn’t mention Google Wallet. Stallmark cards work in both Apple Wallet and Google Wallet.

Can I move my Square Loyalty members to Stallmark?

There is no import tool. Customers join Stallmark from a new counter QR code, and staff can give regulars a starting balance on their first scan.
